About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Toshi's Aquatic Ecology Laboratory studies environmental cleanup technology and biodiversity. To clean up environments, we use the power of microbes. Recently our laboratory mainly focuses on harmful cyanobacterial bloom treatments using hydrogen peroxide. As a part of conservation biology studies, we use environmental DNA techniques to search endangered species and invasive species in southwest Florida. We also conduct aquatic ecology studies in wetlands, rivers, and the Gulf Coast.
Our Story
Our laboratory locates on the 4th floor (room 404) of new Water School building (AB9). Undergraduate Senior Research, independent research, internship, and service learning are welcome (biology, marine science, and environmental studies)! Please consult with Dr. Toshi.
